About

Appalachian Poets and Writers has links to Library holdings and related material for a few local poets and writers, including Lou Crabtree and Lee Smith.

An overview of the Crabtree/Smith archival materials at the library is found under this heading: At the Intersection of Paradise and Dimestore: the creative synergy of Lou Crabtree and Lee Smith. The Collection also has links to profiles of both Lee Smith and Lou Crabtree, where the list of the materials in the collection can be found under: Lou Crabtree.

Navigation notes: Basic Navigation across the Omeka platform includes Items, Collections, and Exhibits that I have created or introduced (in the banner directly below the Title)

Hyperlinks to other resources (when available) will appear in blue (eg.: Lou Crabtree Papers, 1989-2015, Belk Library, W.L. Eury Appalachian Collection, Appalachian State University, Special Collections, AC 1201, under "Relation" on the Lou Crabtree page links to the Crabtree papers at ASU)

Omeka uses Dublin Core indexing on all of its applications. In Omeka, each component of a Collection or Exhibit is added as an individual Item, which is also subject to Dublin Core indexing. Clicking on the link in the list of Identifiers will bring up the Item record. If an image is available, it will appear on the right side of the record as a "File." Double click and the image loads.

Most links to related material appear under "Identifier," the last item in the Dublin Core Index. These will either be stored on Omeka's servers or I've uploaded them onto my Bluehost account. Examples:
